Reporting to the Hardware Engineering Manager and based in the Company’s headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, the RFIC Engineer:
- Educated to BE or equivalent
- At least 8 years of industrial experience in relevant product development
- Is responsible for the design, implementation and verification of RF PLL blocks/subsystems up to 10 GHz and contributes to the design of evaluation systems, test harnesses, IC test boards etc.
- Works as part of a cross-functional team to deliver the next generation products from concept to volume production
- Supports concurrent engineering activities to ensure on-going production of quality products with high yield
Duties include:
- Design, verify and document RF PLL subsystems (e.g. PLL, VCO’s, Mixers, LO Drivers), up to an operating frequency of 10GHz, using industry standard tools and design flows
- Work with IC Layout Design Engineers to optimise design and layout
- Create the necessary design and product documentation and host design reviews
- Characterise prototypes, developing test specifications and coordinate with test/product engineering to drive product releases
- Contribute to the development of the IC production test programme for RF blocks
- Actively participate in silicon bring-up and characterisation testing
- Support silicon debug activities such as FIB edits and metal revisions
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Proven RF CMOS track record in volume production
- Experience in PLLs, VCO’s, LO Drivers and Mixers design
- In depth knowledge of complete IC Design Flow: Analog IC Architecture Design and Modelling; IP Evaluation and Selection, Analog/Digital partitioning in mixed-signal systems
- Knowledge of:
- High frequency CMOS RF design up to 10GHz
- Low power IC design techniques
- Design in CMOS 40nm node
- Good working knowledge of Cadence suite of Analog design tools
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work on own initiative to come up with innovative solutions
