John Flynn

John is the managing director of ACT. He has over 25 years of experience in operating roles in the software industry and technology venture investing. He site on the boards of Corvil and Lime Microsystems, and works closely with the several of the teams across the portfolio.
John was responsible for ACT’s investments in Acra Control (acquired by Curtiss Wright), AEP Networks (acquired by Ultra Technologies), Allfinanz (acquired by Munich Re), Cape Clear Software (acquired by Workday), eNet (acquired by US Private Equity), Massana (acquired by Agere), Prismtech (acquired by Adlink Technology) and Stockbyte (acquired by Getty Images). Prior to joining ACT, John worked in the U.K. as a software engineer and business development manager with the Global IT services provider, EDS (now HP).

John graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in physics and mathematics, and received an MBA from Trinity College Dublin. John is a former Chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association.
