RFIC Engineer

 

Reporting to the Hardware Engineering Manager and based in the Company’s headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, the RFIC Engineer:

  • Is responsible for the design, implementation and verification of RF / Analog blocks/subsystems up to 10 GHz and contribute to the design of evaluation systems, test harnesses, IC test boards etc.
  • Works as part of a cross-functional team to deliver the next generation products from concept to volume production
  • Supports concurrent engineering activities to ensure on-going production of quality products with high yield

 

Duties include:

  • Design, verify and document RF/Analog blocks/subsystems (e.g. LNA’s, PA’s, VCO’s, mixers), up to an operating frequency of 10GHz, using industry standard tools and design flows
  • Work with IC Layout Design Engineers to optimise design and layout
  • Create the necessary design and product documentation and host design reviews
  • Characterise prototypes, developing test specifications and coordinate with test/product engineering to drive product releases
  • Contribute to the development of the IC production test programme for RF blocks
  • Actively participate in silicon bring-up and characterisation testing
  • Support silicon debug activities such as FIB edits and metal revisions


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proven RF CMOS track record in volume production
  • Experience in LNA’s, PA’s, VCO’s and mixers design
  • In depth knowledge of complete IC Design Flow: Analog IC Architecture Design and Modelling; IP Evaluation and Selection, Analog/Digital partitioning in mixed-signal systems
  • Knowledge of:

High frequency CMOS RF design up to 10GHz
High frequency CMOS analog design up to 2GHz preferred
Low power IC design techniques
Design in CMOS 90nm or less nodes

  • Good working knowledge of Cadence suite of Analog design tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work on own initiative to come up with innovative solutions
  • At least 5 years of experience in relevant product development
